[ Dear Specific Bloggers ]

I recently reduced the number of blogs I read to a small amount because I just couldn't keep track of all of them...I hate it when blogs aren't very inspiring but they request followers anyway. Put some effort into your blog!

But those aren't the people I'm here to complain about...and I'm not sure I have a name for the people I'm about to complain about. I guess you could call them compliment commenters. They basically drop a comment like..."Cute!" or "Love that outfit!" and their blog URL and that's it. They really have nothing substantive to say but they like the idea that they're getting their name out there.

There is one in particular that I see on pretty much every blog I follow. She really irritates me. I'm debating whether or not I should tell you who I'm thinking of. I'm pretty sure you could guess.

Anyway, compliment commenters are not welcome here. I don't really have many followers and I don't mind but if you're not going to say something you mean, then don't say anything at all :O

Also, I'd like to inform you that I won't be posting any outfit photos until I have access to a camera (which won't be for another month) Please go follow some other inspiring blogs :] I have several listed in my sidebar.

I think sometimes people do that because they have so many blogs they follow. I also think you're right in saying that some people to it just to get their name out there. I'm sure it's a little of both.

"nice post!"

haha... but yeah, was this inspired by Tamanna's post? yeah, the thing is I don't think the "compliment bloggers" would even notice they're being mentioned...if they don't read your post in the first place. Ironic? yes.

I totally agree with your comment on Tamanna's blog; I either don't leave a comment or leave at least 2-3 sentences on someone's blog. I don't publish comments that JUST include an url to their blog or something anymore...I know that offends some people, but sometimes the comments seem so general that they're prbly copy+pasted across 1000x blogs...

We totally agree with this and have had some such comments on our blog. We only comment when we feel that we have something to add to the conversation and avoid the generic copy and paste comments "cute" "nice blog" "great post".
It's obvious when the commenter hasn't even looked at the first page of your blog!

I agree wholeheartedly. I think inspiration should be all-encompassing, whether one is writing an actual post or just commenting on someone else's!

The quest to get more comments on one's blog drives people to desperation sometimes. But then again, if you're leaving fluff comments (or compliment comments, as you say!), who's going to click back to your site anyway?

Thanks for bringing up an important point :) I like that you're not afraid to speak your mind, even if it might offend some people!
